Joseph Hill is an assistant professor in the Department of ASL and Interpreter Education at National Technical Institute for the Deaf at RIT. His areas of interest include the socio-historical and -linguistic aspects of the African-American variety of American Sign Language and attitudes toward signing varieties in the American Deaf community.
